PHILLIPS STARTS
SEASON IN WILD WEST SHOOTOUT
(January
18, 2026) The 20th edition of the Wild West Shootout
miniseries concluded in a big way tonight in the desert, as
a $25,000 winner's check was on the line at Central Arizona
Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona. Terry Phillips unfortunately
failed to transfer into the 50-lap headliner after placing
eighth in his heat race and ninth in his B-Main. A similar
story was also told in Open Wheel Modified action earlier
this evening, as Terry ran third in his heat race and ninth
in his B-Main to miss out on the $3,000 to win main event.
(Mike Ruefer Photo)
(January 17, 2026) With added
purse money tonight at Central Arizona Raceway, the penultimate
event of the miniseries shelled out a $15,000 first place
prize. Terry Phillips ran eighth in his heat race and sixth
in his B-Main, but later won the Pro Power Dash to earn the
final starting spot for the 40-lapper. At the end of the Super
Late Model contest, TP was paid for a twenty-second place
performance. The Springfield, Missouri ace was back behind
the wheel of his Open Wheel Modified tonight as well, as he
recorded a B-Main triumph and a twenty-second place effort
in the $2,000 to win feature.
(January 16, 2026) The stars
and cars racing with the Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona
Raceway took to the racetrack tonight for the fourth round
of the miniseries. With a $10,000 paycheck up for grabs, Terry
Phillips placed sixth in his loaded heat race, second in his
B-Main, and twenty-second in the final finishing order of
the 30-lap sprint.
(January 14, 2026) Following
a few days off, the dirt-slinging action in the desert heated
back up tonight with round three of the Wild West Shootout
miniseries. A 42-car field was on hand at Central Arizona
Raceway to do battle for the $10,000 winner’s check.
Terry Phillips knocked down the ninth fastest lap in Group
B during qualifying prior to finishing fifth in his heat race.
Following a victory in his B-Main, Terry charged past nine
competitors during the 30-lap feature to land in the ninth
finishing position.
(January 11, 2026) Round two
of the Wild West Shootout miniseries took center stage tonight
at Central Arizona Raceway and a $10,000 top prize was up
for grabs for the ground pounding Super Late Models at the
Casa Grande, Arizona facility. Terry Phillips placed seventh
in both his heat race and his B-Main prior to advancing to
finish third in the Pro Power Dash. Unfortunately, Terry was
unable to make the start in the 40-lap feature event.
(January 10, 2026) Terry Phillips
lifted the lid to his 2026 racing season earlier tonight at
Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona, as the Wild
West Shootout miniseries kicked off with a $25,000 to win
Super Late Model extravaganza. Terry narrowly missed out on
transferring into the 50-lap headliner after finishing eighth
in his heat race, sixth in his B-Main, and second in the Pro
Power Dash for non-qualifiers. In Open Wheel Modified action,
TP ran second in his heat race and twenty-first in the $2,000
to win main event.
