TP FIFTH IN MODIFIED MASTERS OPENER AT CLS!

Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) followed the USMTS trail north to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin from June 14-16 for the 2nd Annual 'Modified Masters.' In the $2,500 to win opener on Thursday night, Terry Phillips won his heat race prior to winding up fifth in the 40-lap feature behind only winner Stormy Scott, Jake Timm, Casey Arneson, and Jake O'Neil. On Friday evening, Terry placed fifth in both of his heat races, which accumulated him the 15th most passing points in preliminary action. After grabbing the fourth transfer spot through Saturday's consolation race, TP started the $40,000 to win headliner from the outside of the eighth row. The Springfield, Missouri star pitted during the 70-lapper due to a tire going down, but battled back to salvage a solid eleventh place performance. PHILLIPS EARNS PAIR OF TOP TENS IN USMTS ACTION

The cars and stars of the USMTS tour rolled into the state of Kansas from June 7-9 for the 'Sunflower State Showdown,' which featured three complete shows at 81 Speedway in Park City, Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, and Salina Speedway in Salina. On Thursday night at 81 in a $2,500 to win program, Terry Phillips placed sixth in his heat race, fourth in his B-Main, and thirteenth in the 40-lapper. At Dodge City on Friday evening, Terry advanced to fourth in his heat race prior to passing five competitors during the $3,000 to win A-Main to bag a solid sixth place showing. In the $3,000 to win weekend finale on Saturday at Salina, TP ran eighth in his heat race (flat tire), third in his B-Main, and eighth in the 40-lap headliner. HOLIDAY WEEKEND NETS SIXTH AT DEER CREEK

After entering Thursday's opening night of the 'Show-Me 100' at Lucas Oil (MO) Speedway, Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) ventured north to compete in United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) action. Terry Phillips was rained-out on Friday evening at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin, but things went off without a hitch on Saturday night at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Terry stormed up to third in his heat race prior to knocking down a solid sixth place effort in the $3,000 to win headliner. At Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa on Sunday in the $2,500 to win weekend finale, TP finished fifth in his heat race and eleventh in the 40-lapper. PHILLIPS WINS AT MARSHALLTOWN; RAIN AT FARLEY
(May 13, 2018)
Springfield, Missouri star Terry Phillips bagged his first feature win of the 2018 racing season on Thursday night, May 10 in a last minute trip to Marshalltown Speedway in Marshalltown, Iowa! Driving an IMCA Modified out of Jordan Grabouski's stable, Terry finished second in his heat race and later drew the outside of the front row in the 25-lap feature event. TP never relinquished the top spot throughout the distance and claimed the $1,000 winner's share ahead of Johnny Scott, Tyler Droste, Stormy Scott, and Todd Shute. The 'Super Modified Weekend' at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa over the May 11-12 weekend was then washed out, but the $50,000 to win IMCA Modified special is supposed to be rescheduled in the future. TERRY PHILLIPS SOLID IN OKLAHOMA DOUBLE-DIP

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team were back on the USMTS trail on May 5-6 in a pair of races at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma and Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, Oklahoma. On Saturday evening at Tri-State Speedway, Terry won his heat race and led the first seventeen circuits of the $3,000 to win headliner before winding up fourth in the final rundown of the 40-lapper behind only winner Zack VanderBeek, Rodney Sanders, and Jake O'Neil. At Creek County Speedway on Sunday night, TP advanced to third in his heat race prior to moving up to seventh in the $2,500 to win main event, which also featured a myriad of different bonus money and awards. PHILLIPS RUNNER-UP IN TRIPLEHEADER OPENER

Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) followed the USMTS tour to a trio of different racetracks from April 27-29. On Friday night in a $3,000 to win shootout at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Terry Phillips won his heat race, led the first 27 laps in the headliner, and finished a strong runner-up behind only race winner Lucas Schott. In a similar $3,000 to win battle on Saturday evening at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, Terry won his heat race, but an opening lap crash in the headliner dropped him to twenty-first in the final finishing order. At Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma on Sunday in the $2,500 to win weekend finale, TP advanced to finish fourth in his heat race prior to placing eleventh in the feature event, which saw limited to no passing. TP NABS PAIR OF TOP FIVES IN NEW MEXICO!

The #75 TPR team was in the pit area from April 20-22 at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico, as the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) presided over the 'Rancho Milagro Short Track Shootout.' On Friday night in the $3,000 to win opener, Terry Phillips won his heat race before moving up to finish third in the 40-lapper behind only winner Stormy Scott and runner-up Jake O'Neil. In a similar $3,000 to win show on Saturday evening, Terry placed second in heat race action prior to advancing up to fourth in the 40-lap affair to cross underneath the checkers behind only victor Jake O'Neil, Johnny Scott, and Bumper Jones. At SNMS on Sunday afternoon in the weekend finale, which boasted a $2,500 payday, TP finished third in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and thirteenth in the 40-lap headliner that was contested on a one-groove racing surface. Terry Phillips Racing (TPR) headed west to Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona on April 13-14, as the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) presided over a pair of $3,000 to win shootouts. On Friday night, Terry Phillips ran sixth in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and tenth in the 35-lap feature event after maneuvering past seven racecars. At Canyon on Saturday evening, TP placed third in heat race action before piloting his #75 machine by six competitors during the 40-lapper en route to a strong fifth place outing behind only victor Jake O'Neil, Ricky Thornton, Jr., Johnny Scott, and Lucas Schott. PHILLIPS HEADS SOUTH TO TEXAS WITH CCSDS

Terry Phillips and his #75 TPR team made a last minute call and ventured south to Texas in search of warmer weather over the March 30-31 weekend. In a $2,000 to win COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) showdown on Friday night at Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, Terry finished fifth in his heat race and won his B-Main before placing thirteenth in the final rundown of the 30-lap headliner. At Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas on Saturday evening in a $3,110 to win CCSDS shootout, TP ran fifth in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and seventeenth in the 40-lapper.
